   Wow! Just received it! You cannot imagine how many symbols (all very well drawn) are decribed in this book. I'm from Germany and I found the German language really excellent. But you can also find all the text in English and French, all in the same book, with a perfect graphical layout. The paper quality is amazing as the musicological introduction. It is a must, I suggest, to everybody need to understand the contemporary music. Furthermore deastore has a free shipment worldwide. Very appreciated!

   The book is simply: GREAT! A great number of signs and all perfectly commented. Unfortunately it was not translated in Suomi or Finnish. But definitively it should be! So far, I do not had any knowledge of the author (Mr. Tortiglione)....but looking on the web looks like a great composer and musicologist. I can only say that this very rich book is helping me understanding the contemporary music of all genres.

   Sono un pianista e devo dire che si tratta di un testo veramente eccezionale. Non immaginavo nemmeno potesse essere così utile. Una vera miniera di segni, informazioni. Lungo capitolo per il pianoforte e strumenti a tastiera. Il testo è perfettamente curato in ogni aspetto. Bellissima la prefazione di Guido Salvetti, presidente della società italiana di musicologia. Lo consiglio.

   Simply great! it's a so useful book. Written in English, french, Deutch, Italian (all in one!) with hundreds of musical examples! It's really a wonderful idea. I'm so happy of this....thanks Tortiglione!

   Paolo Tortiglione is undoubtedly one of the worlds leading authorities on contemporary music notation. I read on his website he wons many International Composition Prizes, his music is performed and broadcasted all over Europe, the USA and Japan. As Composer and head of the Composition Department at the Conservatory where he works. He has written several books and produced three educational CD Rom.Paolo has taught Master Classes all over the world for many years. He, in collaboration with other performers and con-ductors, has collected and categorized a myriad of new symbols which have been published in music of this century. In addition Paolo evaluated these signs in order to determine their effectiveness in practical application. Theese results have been incorporated into this volume in the clearest and most direct way. The book is organized to facilitate the location of specific information and for easy reference. A minutely detailed score index as well a rich bibliography are provided as an ad-ditional and trusted tool.
