The majority of e-books available on Deastore.com (either in encrypted EPUB format than in encrypted PDF) are copyright protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management), used to ensure that copyright laws are respected. All other e-books formats (Microsoft Reader, EReader) are also protected by DRM that regulates the reading.
In order to read the files EPUB and PDF protected by DRM, you need to install on your PC a program, which is free, called Adobe Digital Editions ( http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/ )
This program, which can be free downloaded from internet allows you to create a personal USER-ID and it ensures that a specific copy of an e-book is owned by only one owner associated to that USER-ID, after creating an account on Adobe web site.

E-books protected by DRM may be downloaded on different devices( smartphone, PC, e-reader) for a maximum of 6 copies.
Adobe Digital Editions software regulates the download and allows you to read your digital book on your PC or download it on different devices granting that copyright laws are respected.
How to use Adobe Digital Editions
Follow these easy steps to use Adobe Digital Editions:
1) Download the software Adobe Digital Editions (compatible with Windows, Mac, smartphones and the majority of e-book readers ) go to : http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/
2) Follow the instructions on your screen to install the program. Start the program or wait for the automatic starting procedure once the install program has been completed.
3) At first Adobe Digital Editions will ask you to register your User-ID and will associate the copy of your software to your Adobe registered ID.


4) If you haven’t yet registered your personal User –ID you may click on “ If you haven’t yet an Adobe ID you can easily have one online for free” as shown in the picture



5) Once the registration procedure on Adobe web site has been completed you can go back to the Adobe Digital Editions software installation procedure, on your PC and type the Login and Password just created.
Reading e-books on Adobe Digital Editions
Reading an e-book on Adobe Digital Editions is very simple and you have to add your e-book in the Library shown on the program clicking on “ Library “ and then “Add to Library”: here a window will appear showing your folders and allowing you to select and add the e-book .





If your are buying and/or downloading an e-book and you already have the Adobe Digital Editions software installed on your PC the system will be able to recognize the file and will ask you to open it with this program.
You have to simply confirm and your e-book will automatically appear in your library, once the download procedure has been completed.

How to copy e-books on other reading devices with Adobe Digital Editions
You simply have to associate your reading device (PC, smartphone, e-reader etc) to your personal Adobe User-ID already created.
Adobe Digital Editions will automatically start the copy procedure asking you to confirm each step.
1) Plug in the device on the computer where you have your Adobe Digital Editions registered copy which contains your e-books library
2) Start the software Adobe Digital Editions
3) The software will automatically retrieve the new device and will ask you if you want to authorize the new device with your Adobe –ID. Click on “ Authorize device”




4) Once the device has been authorized, you simply have to“drag and drop” with your mouse and move the e-books from your library to your reading device.
